You're not confused because something is wrong with you.
You're confused because you're tangled. Years of being told your memory is wrong, your feelings are too much, and your instincts can't be trusted will knot anyone up — until you can't tell where they end and you begin. This is a private place to work that knot loose. One thread at a time, at your pace, with nobody telling you what to do.
If you are in immediate danger, please stop and call 911.
This site is educational reflection support. It is not therapy, legal advice, or emergency services, and it cannot diagnose anyone. To speak with a trained advocate 24/7, free and confidential: National Domestic Violence Hotline — 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
We will never tell you what to do with your life.
Most people arrive here having already spent years being told what to think by someone else. We're not going to repeat that — it would defeat the entire point. What this does instead is hand you back your own information, organized and named clearly, so that the decision is genuinely yours for what may be the first time in a long while.
A knot is just three threads you can't tell apart yet.
When you're this tangled, everything feels like one impossible problem. It isn't. It's three separate questions that have been wound around each other — and they come apart one at a time, in this order.
Tangled, then loosening, then clear. It rarely happens in that order on the first try. It still happens.
How the untangling works
Four steps. Go at whatever pace you need. Nothing here is timed and nothing is graded.

Before you make an account anywhere — including here. Registering creates a record: a confirmation email, and a login page in your browser history. Please use an email address you are certain is private to you. If your devices or email may be monitored, read the Safety Center first. It's free, it needs no account, and it always will.

For twenty years, I believed I was fighting to save my marriage.
That's honestly how I would have described it at the time. Fighting for it. Trying harder. Questioning myself constantly, and deciding — over and over — that the problem was probably me and I simply hadn't done enough yet.
I didn't realize until much later that I wasn't in a marriage I was saving. I was in a relationship that was slowly changing how I saw myself.
And when I finally understood it, I didn't leave.
It took two years just to accept that I could not change another person. Then two more years to plan carefully, because I had a son still at home and I wanted to protect him. I waited until my youngest left for college.
Four years between understanding and leaving. I tell people that because so many arrive here convinced they should have seen it sooner, and that knowing but staying means they aren't serious. You are not behind. There is no schedule.
The turning point, when it came, wasn't dramatic. It was one thought: I deserved better. That was all it was, and it changed everything.
My timeline was mine — it fit my family and what was safe for us, and it isn't a prescription for anyone else. Some people need to move much faster than I did. What I want for you isn't my decision. It's yours, made at the right time, in the safest way possible, with your eyes open.
That's why this exists — education, practical tools, and hope. I'm honored to walk this with you.

Questions people ask
Before we begin
Please read this. It takes ninety seconds and it matters more than the questions do.
Four things you should know
1. Nothing you type leaves this device.
Your answers are saved only in this browser, on this device. There is no server storing them, no account to hack, and no one — including us — who can read them. That also means: if you clear your browser data, your answers are gone.
2. This cannot diagnose anyone.
No questionnaire can determine whether a person has a personality disorder, and we will never claim to. What this can do is describe patterns of behavior you are experiencing — which is the thing that actually affects your life and your decisions.
3. Your safety comes before your accuracy.
If someone might see this screen, use the Quick Exit button (top of every page, or press Esc three times). Consider a library computer, a friend's phone, or private browsing. There is a full guide in the Safety Center.
4. Some questions may be hard.
You can skip any question, pause anytime, and come back. If you notice yourself getting overwhelmed, stop. Breathe. The information will still be here tomorrow, and you are not required to finish anything today.
A few things that help us tailor your reflection
About 12–18 minutes. Your progress saves automatically after every question.
Saved automatically. You can close this and return later.
Build a plan that fits your actual life
There is no correct answer here, and choosing one path today does not lock you into it. Many people work on the "staying" plan and the "preparing" plan at the same time — that is wisdom, not disloyalty.
The work of coming back to yourself
Nine guided exercises. Write as much or as little as you want. Everything saves to this device only, and you can export it all whenever you like.
Understanding what you're living in
Naming something accurately is not being dramatic. It is the first step out of confusion. Fourteen plain-language guides.
Someone to think out loud with
Please read: This companion is a guided reflection tool, not a person and not artificial intelligence in the way you may expect. It runs entirely inside your browser using prewritten pathways drawn from published research on coercive control, trauma, and attachment, so nothing you type is sent anywhere. It is educational, not clinical. It cannot diagnose, cannot give legal advice, and is not a substitute for a licensed therapist or a trained advocate. When something is beyond it, it will say so and point you to a human.
Practical safety, right now
